Bridging finance to purchase overseas properties

Whatever the economic climate emerging markets are the ideal place to buy a foreign property. Bridging finance secured on assets in the UK can be used to snap up that bargain property in the sun. Bridging loans can be used to supply the deposit, balance or even the full purchase price and can be repaid when a more traditional form of finance is taken out on the property.

Example:

A client had paid a large amount of funds for the purchase of a property abroad but had run out of funds to finish the purchase. He did not have time to arrange a mortgage for the property and didn't wish to be tied in to a mortgage for a period of time due to an endowment policy maturing in a few months giving him the required funds. He had a bridging loan secured on the property for a few months covering the time between required purchase date and maturity of his own funds.
